February Meeting

Audubon Louisiana Nature Center - directions
Roberto F. Aguilar, Senior Veterinarian at the Audubon Zoo and the Audubon Nature Institute
, will give us a General Introduction to Medical Care of Reptiles - Principles and Techniques
as Taught in Today's Schools of Veterinary Medicine".Basic husbandry and care as the young vets
learn it, medical radiology, and finally a few interesting cases.
Last Meeting
Thomas Eimermacher presented his thoughts on organizing focus groups within our society. The
purpose of focus groups is to bring members together who share a specific interest. A focus might
concentrate on a specific specie or activity such as breeding or field observation. Contact Thomas

This bulletin is to serve as our monthly news letter. A link will be emailed to members early
each month as a meeting reminder. The bulletin will also present reminders for other happenings
scheduled for the near future. Paper copies will be sent to members without email. If you have a

Here are some events that the LGCHS participates in. We will be looking for some volunteers. Come to
the next meeting for more info.
March 29th - SPCA Petfest - 9am -4pm at the Harahan SPCA.
April 5th - Gatorfest
April 26th - Herpfest - 10am -4pm at the Louisiana Nature Center
This month the PBS program Nature will present a 4 part series on reptiles. The program will
air locally on Sundays st 8:00 PM on WYES.
