This bulletin is to serve as our monthly news letter.  A link will be emailed to members early each month as a meeting reminder.  The bulletin will also present reminders for other happenings scheduled for the near future. Paper copies will be sent to members without email.  If you have a suggestion for this bulletin please bring it to the next meeting or email it to the webmaster.

Final elections results for the LGCHS Board of Directors will be tallied in November.  Nominations will start after the November meeting and close at the October meeting.  Voting will start after the October meeting and close at the November meeting. Parameters for nominating Directors will be presented at the November Meeting.  You MUST have your 2003 dues paid by Sept.30 to participate in nominating, voting or serving.

You may start paying your dues for 2004.  All membership fees need to be paid by the February meeting.  See our treasurer,  Steve Castellanos.  Dues are $15 for the year.


LGCHS members are entitled to a two year subscription to REPTILES Magazine for the price of one year,  new or renewal.  Contact Bill Watts for this or any other member benefits.


The Louisiana Reptile & Amphibian Task Force,  which has 18 members, met on Wednesday,  Oct 28.  Mike Beebe,   Thomas Eimermacher,  and Bob Thomas,  all of the,LGCHS,  were selected to serve with other LGCHS members Barry Guilliot and Theron Magers,  who chairs the Task Force.  The 9 member Committee selections to help promulgate the regulations for the Task Force for permits for non indigenous constrictors over 12 feet and venomous snakes include Mike Beebe,   Thomas Eimermacher,
Theron Magers,  Joe Mathis,  Bob Thomas,  and Bill Watts of the LGCHS.

Reptile stamps are available at the Post office.  There are 5 different designs in vibrant colors.

Our Vice President,  Thomas Eimermacher,  will be spending several weeks during November in Western Tanzania doing field research work.
