This month Dr. Bob Thomas will speak to us about "Herpetology then and now:   a perspective from 50 years in the field and a view of the future."  Dr. Thomas is on the society advisory board and has always been a supporter of our organization.  His presentations are informative and interesting.  This is a "do not miss" meeting.

From the Legislative Committee:
There is a new law on the books about property rights.  The old law states that private property owners must post their property if there is to be no trespassing.  However,  the new law states that you must first get the landowner's permission to cross their property and that "posted" signage is not necessary.  If you are out photographing or collecting on private property,  be sure to ask the property owner before you trespass.  If you are on public land be sure that you have the applicable permits (You need a permit for spillway).  Remember to replace all boards and rocks the way that you found them and do not destroy habitat.  This also is part of our state regulations.   ~Bill~

Society Polo Shirts are available with your name embroidered under the logo over the left pocket for $15.   If you want the Tarantula logo on the sleeve it is an extra $3.  If you bring it back later for the logo it is $6.  It is $8 if you want a logo put on a shirt or whatever that you already have.  Contact Bill Watts at info@lgchs.org or call 504-710-8456.  We also have some hats with the Snapper logo available for $15.

Don't forget that a Louisiana fishing license is required to collect or keep Louisiana reptiles.

If you have a suggestion for a club activity please Email it to Thomas Eimermacher.
