2008 LGCHS Membership Dues:

It's time to renew. The best way to do this is to attend a meeting and see the membership chairman,  Fred Mattingly,  or Troy Day, the treasurer.  Also you may mail in your dues to LGCHS,  PO Box 113483,   Metairie LA  70011-3483.

LGCHS Myspace Page:

For those of you who us myspace, at the end of last year the President Eric Marquette set up a myspace page for the LGCHS.   In the few months it has been in use we have established a network with other Herpetological Societies and Conservation Groups throughout the world.  You can reach it at www.myspace.com/lgchs.  Go check it out !

The LGCHS Library:

As many of you know we recently started the LGCHS Library.  This library will contain herpetological books,  journals,  magazines,  periodicals,  tapes,  and other herpetological sources.   The current inventory can be accessed through our website and individual items can be checked out for one month at a time.  You can also request specific titles to be added to the library by contacting LGCHS librarian,  Joe Mathis,  via a link on the site.  The library and its services are another LGCHS membership benefit and are free to all current members.

Education:

Education is an important part of LGCHS.  During the year we have various opportunities to share our interest with the public.  Please contact David Chiasson if you would like to participate.

Please email Dr. Jeff Boundy when you are out in the field and can identify reptiles and amphibians that you collect or just observe.  He needs census information on Louisiana reptiles and their location.
